Step-by-Step Clinical Protocol

1. Cavity Preparation: Eliminate carious dentin as completely as possible to expose the pulp horn or chamber floor.

2. Application: Place a small pellet of Devitec paste (approximately the size of a pinhead) directly onto the exposed pulp without applying excessive pressure.

3. Sealing: Seal the cavity hermetically with a reliable temporary filling material (e.g., zinc oxide eugenol or temporary cement) to prevent leakage of the paste into oral tissues.

4. Treatment Duration: Allow the paste to remain in place for 5 to 7 days until complete pulpal devitalization is achieved.

5. Extirpation: Re-open the cavity under aseptic conditions, remove the temporary seal and devitalized pulp tissue completely, and proceed with mechanical root canal instrumentation.
