About Domed Freeflow Sand Blasting Gun
Enhance bond strength and micro-mechanical retention in your clinical and laboratory procedures with the Aluminum Oxide Sandblasting Gun. Engineered as a handheld external dental sandblasting device, it dramatically increases specific surface area and surface reactivity to achieve optimal adhesion across crowns, bridges, composite materials, porcelain, and orthodontic appliances. Constructed with a durable stainless steel body and a 360° fully rotatable head with a replaceable carbide tip, this air abrasion system delivers unparalleled precision, versatility, and ergonomic control.
Key Features & Functional Highlights
Enhanced Surface Micro-Retention: Significantly increases surface area and reactivity for maximum bonding strength across metal, ceramic, resin, and porcelain restorations.
360° Rotatable Nozzle Design: Allows complete 360° rotation for effortless access to hard-to-reach angles, with easy disassembly for high-pressure autoclavable sterilization.
Ergonomic Pencil-Grip Control: Designed to be held comfortably like a pencil, featuring an intuitive thumb-activated finger button for instant start/stop air-abrasive control.
Durable Stainless Steel & Carbide Tip: Built with a rugged stainless steel structure and a replaceable carbide nozzle tip designed to resist erosion and deliver high-durability performance.
High-Speed Line Connection Options: Features a high-speed line adapter that connects directly to standard high-speed handpiece tubing or quick-disconnect air supplies without needing constant pressure readjustment.
Autoclavable Nozzle & High-Pressure Sterilization: The nozzle can withstand high-pressure steam sterilization at 134°C for 15 minutes.
Clinical & Laboratory Applications (Indicating Purposes)
Pit & Fissure Preparation: Cleans and preps fissures and cracks prior to sealing.
Stain & Residue Removal: Effectively removes stubborn surface stains from grooves and cleans residual adhesives/mushrooms from treated surfaces.
Restoration Micro-Roughening: Surface roughening of crowns, bridges, columns, and other metal or ceramic restorations prior to cementation.
Direct Bonding Preparation: Micro-etching existing amalgam, composite resin, acrylic, and porcelain restorations before intraoral repair.
Orthodontic Applications: Ideal for bracket bonding, bracket re-roughening, and repeated-use cement removal.
Abrasive Powder Compatibility & Guidelines
90µm White Alumina: Designed for quickly removing stubborn adhesives and heavy residue on treated surfaces.
50µm White Alumina: General preparation for bonding on metal or non-metal surfaces (will not alter color on treated surface).
27µm White Alumina: Surface polishing and fine finishing work.
Abrasive Note: Always use dry, loose powder free of clumping or foreign moisture. Wet arm materials can be baked at $120^\circ\text{C}$ for half an hour to dry prior to use. Do not mix with foreign particles to avoid clogging.

Operating Instructions & Best Practices
Distance & Motion: Hold the nozzle 2mm to 10mm from the target area. Use a continuous, overlapping sweeping motion rather than staying stationary to produce an even, dull-textured, etched finish without eroding surfaces.
Safety Protocols: Always use rubber dams intraorally to prevent accidental soft-tissue injury or air embolism. Protect patient eyes, nose, and optical equipment. Use a dust-collection cabinet and face mask when performing non-oral sandblasting operations in lab environments.
Sterilization Care
Nozzle: Autoclave under high pressure at 134°C for 15 minutes.
Main Body: If required, submerge in approved 3.2% glutaraldehyde solution for up to 10 hours, then thoroughly rinse with clean water prior to clinical use.
