Etching Dwell Time & Guidelines

⚠️ Important Dentine Precaution: Do not over-etch dentin! When using high concentrations (e.g., AT-37), strictly adhere to dentin exposure times.

Enamel Etching Time: 20 - 30 seconds (Etch unprepared enamel for up to a maximum of 30 seconds).

Dentin Conditioning Time: 15 - 20 seconds (For AT-37, reducing dentin time under 15 seconds is permissible to prevent over-etching).

Contamination Re-Etching: If etched surfaces are contaminated with saliva, re-etch for a maximum of 10 seconds.

Step-by-Step Clinical Protocol

Tooth Preparation: Clean teeth thoroughly using a fluoride-free prophylaxis paste. Rubber dam isolation is strongly recommended.

Application: Attach a single-use syringe needle or use a disposable brush. Starting from the beveled enamel margins, apply Nanofil Etchant Gel over the entire cavity surface.

Dwell Time Management: Allow 20 - 30 seconds on enamel and 15 - 20 seconds on dentin.

Rinsing: Rinse thoroughly with water spray to remove all etchant gel completely.

Drying: Gently air-dry the cavity with oil-free air. Do not desiccate or dry out the dentin! Properly etched enamel should present a frosty, chalky-white appearance.

Bonding: Proceed immediately with adhesive application according to adhesive system directions.
